AFP Global Logistics Works With Marlin Steel Wire Products to Fight COVID-19

AFP Global Logistics has remained open throughout the COVID-19 crisis as an essential business supporting the supply chain. We’ve also talked a lot about the effects that it’s having on shipping, logistics, and people across the globe over the last few weeks. We know how important it is to “walk the talk” in a time like this.

That’s why when we were called upon to help Marlin Steel Wire Products, a Baltimore based company, specializing in the creation of custom metal forms to support the United States of America in their effort to understand the impact of COVID-19, we didn’t hesitate.

Companies Adapting in the Fight Against COVID-19

Companies across the nation are currently answering the call to produce items that they’ve never produced before in order to better support the global medical community.

Organizations like Under Armour are even helping to create surgical medical masks for those on the front lines of the pandemic. Marlin Steel Wire Company is no different. Late Friday night last week, they were awarded a large order for test tube racks.

Prior to receiving the call for this order, Marlin Steel Wire Company had never produced test tube racks. They got to work quickly, though and met the emergency order deadline by Sunday at 1:30 PM, which is when they contacted AFP Global Logistics requesting an emergency pickup.

How AFP Global Logistics Was Able to Help

Our long-term sales representative, Brandi Whitecotton, got the call on Sunday afternoon for an emergency 4 PM pickup that needed to be delivered ASAP to the Midwest. She mobilized the team quickly and turned to long-time service rep, Wally Booth, to help organize the effort.

He assembled a team of drivers to pick up the freight and hit the road en route to the testing facility. As always, the team delivered clear communication and managed to hit the deadline, delivering the racks by early afternoon the next day.

Despite both the Marlin Steel Wire Company team and the AFP Global Logistics team already working long, hard hours to face this invisible threat, all parties answered the call without hesitation.

We’re grateful to Drew Greenblatt of the Marlin Steel Wire Company for trusting us in his company’s time of need. We were both humbled and honored for the opportunity to aid our country in the fight against COVID-19.
